What I would like to create is a short film following the journey of our main character, who is having lapses of fantasy vs reality involving each of the sections of the stories used. I want to be able to build up the tension through the film attempting to make the audience stomachs tighten, until it ends with her waking up with a bathtub full of book pages giving it the surreal feeling until the very end. I'd like to open with the following quote, hopefully sending the audience in the right direction to help them understand what they are about to see:
"Some people, a fascinating minority, spend most of their waking lives lost in a fantasy world, leaving it to join the common reality almost as a visitor. The fantasies are not mere fleeting daydreams but something of a cross between a dream and a movie, where an elaborate scenario unfolds once a theme is set." - Daniel Goleman, 1987
You need a bit more detail here. What may the scenarios be? How will you build up tension? How will the film be experimental in form?
