Let's Talk: Sound Project Plan

So I may not have made it exactly clear in my previous posts about what I'm actually going to do for my Experimental Sound piece. I'm going to try and clear it all up here, so here's where I begin...with the picture:

And the following is what I would like to achieve:

I want to create a journey: something along the lines of what you would hear in a movie but with the twist of adding in sounds of nature. Because this is built on a farm in New Zealand I got me thinking, it's going to be one hell of a trek to get there so let's animate that through sound. With use of Cubase (because I took a sound recorder that didn't work properly, I couldn't get anything off it, when I went to record myself playing marimba) I'm going to create what I feel the journey would be like, through animated sounds of the marimba. If that makes sense. So heres the plan of the journey:
  • Casually walking along
  • Stops suddenly
  • Realises there's a giant red thing in the field
  • Goes to discover it and falls, rolling down the hill
  • Treks for a bit
  • Finally get's there
  • And it all ends with a yell and a sit down
I've already got the marimba parts written out, well in my head, and the nature sounds recorded. Now I just need to put the marimba part into Cubase and mix in the nature to give it more of a realistic feel.
I want to put a twist on works by Theodore Shapiro, Nathan Johnson, and Rob Simonsen. Well that's my plan anyway.

The following are songs from the film composers listed above:
