Maps and Journeys - Gallery

Initial Idea

To begin with we had the idea of displaying our piece with several aspects, these were; a projected twitter feed, two monitors showing the website and the evidence of the challenges being done, and a QR code linking to a gallery quest.

After a lot of discussion with Rosie it seemed like this wasn't the best way to display our work, this is because it didn't really show off what it was all about and didn't seem too interesting. We then decided to brainstorm some other ideas, however we kept some of the aspects in it like the twitter feed as they seemed necessary to display.

Final Idea

The final idea we all decided on was to create a piece of work people could interact with on the day, so we came up with a giant photo frame that people could pose behind and the photos are uploaded to twitter. This means the twitter feed next to the frame will display the recent photographs taken, showing them under the appropriate hashtag. We're also going to have a computer where the participants can write messages along with their photos, to make it more personal to them and so we can provide them with points for taking part. On the table along with the computer will be flyers and a description of the event so people are aware of what it's there for, and it will have a map of Farnham with each quest marked on it so participants know where to go.

The only issue we've found so far with our gallery idea is the Twitter feed, this is because the only decent ones that would work perfectly cost money which we do not have. However we have looked into several different sites that could possibly show a live feed of the hashtag provided, these are the following sites:
Each of these sites had their problems; ranging from not showing the photographs which is the main point about the feed, or only showing the most recent three posts which was very frustrating. We are currently bordering on just using Twitter as our live feed but I'm not sure how well that will work out, however we can test a few of these and possibly use some free trials of ones you normally need to pay for and see how they work out. These websites are:
