Fields and Frames - New Cinemagraphs

After figuring out that I wanted my final Cinemagraphs to be created from photographs and the use of After Effects I started to experiment a little with a couple of new photographs, I also went back and edited the original four Cinemagraphs to get them to a better standard then they were at.

New Cinemagraphs

My first newly created Cinemagraph is based around a photograph I took on a GeoCaching adventure, it involves many comments and memories placed within a jar and I thought it would be good to make the paper almost move as if searching through them. This is one that would work better with actual footage but I managed to use After Effects effectively I believe to make it look like the pages were being turned slightly, however I would like to work on this more to make it look more realistic than it does. I also made sure it kept in time with the Tardis Light, as I thought if they were placed together the timing would match up and make them seem as if they are meant to be displayed together.

I also created a photograph in which one of the lights is flickering, this was definitely a challenge because I had to find the right expression to make the opacity flicker. Also I attempted to make the lighting above the light flicker as well but that was causing issues, and required going through every still and changing the opacity frame by frame. Although I would like to correct this issue it sort of works because it makes it seem a bit more surreal.

Updated Cinemagraphs

The first one I changed and adapted further was the Tardis Light, this is because I discovered how to make it look like it was glowing more and seemed more realistic as a light. This was done by using the generated lens flare and adapting it to make it seem as if the light is glowing, this took a bit of messing about but once it was done I was rather pleased with the result.

The next one I changed a bit was the fog/smoke screen piece, this is because they didn't quite match up in the middle so I had to create a smoother transition between the fog effects. All I did was reverse the effect and choose a certain placement, however this doesn't work perfectly but it is better than what the original was.

Finally I adapted the clock, all I did on this was extend the time as I figured the majority of my pieces were lasting 12 seconds instead of 10, all this took was changing the final key frame to 12 seconds and exporting it again.
