I decided to search for things along the lines of Installation video and experimental films which came up with some interesting results, of course most of them looking incredibly bizarre to someone who has no clue what I'm watching.
Whilst searching I was reminded of an artist I found way back when I was in Year 9, Bill Viola was a giant inspiration to me and some of his installation art is phenomenal. The one piece that really stood out and suited this project perfectly is Nantes Triptych; it shows three different periods of time in someones life. There are three panels; the left panel shows a birth, the right panel shows an old woman in the process of dying. Finally the middle panel shows a clothed man underwater in stages of turbulence and stillness; showing suspension between birth and death. I'd try and put a clip on here but there are none available on the internet which is frustrating.
I also found that a lot of experimental videos were similar in the way they used calming music and visually attractive clips of everyday life and sometimes even paint or random lines. This then reminded me of one of my favourite music videos; All I know by Fenech-Soler. I only thought of this video because it uses a lot of experimental shots and is rather effective as the final product.
