Once Aidan's film was chosen as a final idea and I chose his group, I decided to do some research on the films he was inspired by.
Irreversible
A film done in several long shots, and in reverse order. It revealed the story slowly, showing the audience what was happening from the end backwards, although this was rather confusing at times and was a film that I really needed to concentrate on when watching. But I can see where Aidan is coming from with this film, and I feel although it would have been difficult to film it was worth a shot.
Momento
Momento is split into two different narrative sequences which include a series of black and white scenes that are shown in chronological order, and a series of scenes in colour shown in reverse order. The sequences show parts of the guys memory, and then at the end come together to show a complete story. I feel the most difficulty with trying to make a film like this is actually getting the storyline correct, and making it obvious to the audience what it is.
