Final Piece
I decided to put together a quick edit of what the pieces might look like together on a wall, I decided to only show three pieces because I thought more might overwhelm the viewer. The initial idea behind the pieces were to attempt to capture visual memories within photographs that all people could relate to in some way.
The first Cinemagraph relates to how people can hold memories within a physical thing, and how this can be communicated to others for example with a message in a bottle. The subtle movement within the photograph is meant to represent flicking through the pages, as if looking back on things.
The second Cinemagraph relates to memory and time, and is quite literal in the fact that it is of a clock. It also shows how time passes by, plus it is a recognisable thing for people all over the world.
The third Cinemagraph shows collective memories in the form of a pop culture, this is because within certain parts of the world the Tardis is a very recognisable object from the TV show Doctor Who.
All three of these together can also represent the past, present, and future; this is as you place your past memories on hold as if in a jar for example, time passes in the present, and the final shows that you don't quite know what the future holds in a way.
The choice I made for the placement of the images wasn't always as it looks now, initially I placed the clock on the left hand side because of the way the images have been taken, however it looked rather odd. This is when I decided to place it in this order because both the Tardis Cinemagraph and the Paper in a Jar one both go at the same speed, and with putting them on either side of the clock in makes it visually effective.
If I could change something about the final pieces it would probably be to make them look more realistic, I might only be seeing it that way because I've been working on them for so long but I feel the transitions between some movements are a bit off. Also I would retake the photograph of the clock and place it within the centre of the photograph, this is only because then the three pieces would work together and create a symmetrical visual effect.
