OK Go
These guys for me are the complete package; they play catchy beats, creative innovative music videos way ahead of others, and I'm going to be honest and say they are one of my favourite bands as their music never gets old (I'm even seeing them live soon).
The group consists of four guys; Damian Kulash, Tim Nordwind, Dan Konopka, and Andy Ross. They first became well known for their music video "Here It Goes Again" in 2007 where they dance on treadmills, this video became viral and has had over 24 million views.
This however wasn't their first creative music video they made, they've been going since 1998 and have made a large variety of different videos this was just the first one to get everyone talking.
The next one to spread around the world was their second music video for "This Too Shall Pass" in 2010, it consists of the band following round a giant Rube Goldberg machine which ends up in chaos and a load of paint, this video currently has over 46 million views.
The most recent video that has gone viral for the band is their music video for "I Won't Let You Down" released in 2014, it follows the band driving round on tiny Honda vehicles as dancers perform around them and end up doing a choreographed umbrella dance where the results are phenomenal. It has gotten over 18 million views in the 3 months it has been up on YouTube.
I think what makes all of their music videos brilliant is that the majority of their videos are shot in one take, the time and preparation alone for the videos is spectacular and the results they get are just visually stunning to watch.
